Join the Space Elevator DAO and help pioneer a revolutionary launch infrastructure that brings the cost of reaching orbit down to earth.
Traditional launch providers charge anywhere from $10,000 to $25,000 per kilogram to reach low Earth orbit. Even the most efficient reusable rockets today, like SpaceX’s Falcon 9, deliver payloads at roughly $2,720/kg【191220626242857†L54-L58】. We believe that a space elevator – a tether extending downward from an orbital platform – can dramatically cut costs, enabling kilograms to reach orbit for $500 to $2,700 and eventually even lower. Early prototypes will start small, but each stage pushes the boundary closer to a genuine “skyhook”.
By investing in the Space Elevator DAO today you aren’t just funding a fantasy: you’re helping build test vehicles, deploy tethers and refine infrastructure. In return you receive Launch Credits (LC) that entitle you to discounts on future orbital services. When the system reaches scale, you can either use your LC to put your own payload in orbit or sell them to those who need affordable launch capacity.
Purchase Launch Credits (LC) with USDC. Each LC represents a one‑dollar discount towards future launch bookings. LC are ERC‑20 tokens: you can hold them, trade them on a DEX or transfer them to friends. The LC contract allows authorised minters to issue new credits during sales or staking.
Proceeds from LC sales are transparently recorded on‑chain in the BudgetBook. Funds are reserved for specific stages (e.g. Stage A) and spent only after invoices and delivery proofs are published. All major equipment purchases, supplier payments and test campaigns are visible to the community.
As test flights succeed the project’s reliability index R improves. Checkout windows automatically increase the maximum LC share from 20% to 30% and eventually to 40% of an invoice. In other words, early failures mean more USDC is required, while a series of successful launches lets your LC go further.
Launch Credit (LC) is a simple ERC‑20 token. One LC equals a $1 discount on launch services. LC tokens are fully transferable, so you can trade or sell them. LC have no expiry; they remain valid until redeemed in a booking window.
The LCSale contract sells LC for USDC at a fixed price set by the DAO. Proceeds are deposited directly into the project’s R&D treasury. Only authorised minters (sale contracts or staking contracts) can issue LC, preventing runaway inflation.
When you book a launch, you specify how many dollars of LC you wish to burn. The Checkout contract enforces the maximum LC share based on the project’s reliability. Any remaining balance is paid with USDC and forwarded directly to the operations wallet for that window.
Stage A focuses on building a prototype launch vehicle and performing the first suborbital test. The budget of $10,000 covers hardware, ground testing, telemetry and a demonstration flight. All expenditures are logged in the BudgetBook with invoices and photos. The mission result is recorded in the MissionRegistry, updating the reliability index.
After a successful Stage A, we scale up to an orbital tether experiment. Funds will pay for a small cube‑sat payload, extended tether and deployment mechanism. A partial success here would validate the dynamic “skyhook” concept and raise R enough to increase LC utilisation to 30%.
With two missions under our belt we pursue a commercial launch: a longer tether capable of delivering kilograms to orbit. At this stage reliability could exceed 0.75, allowing up to 40% of an invoice to be paid with LC. Recurring flights generate revenue to buy back and burn LC, supporting the token economy.

We’re building an open, transparent and community‑driven space infrastructure. Your participation today helps finance R&D, creates the first momentum‑exchange tether prototypes and paves the way for affordable orbit access. In return you receive Launch Credits that will be redeemable for discounts on our future launch services.
